Equipped with a quiet fan to draw in foul air and expel clean air, this appliance reduces odors near their source, making it useful in bathrooms and the kitchen and for pets (keep it near the cat's litter box) and tobacco smoke. The on/off switch permits either normal speed or QuickClean speed for fast results. An indicator light shows the unit is operating, and a month-to-month dial serves as a filter-change reminder.   I bought it yeterday. We do lots of Indian cooking with lots of smoke. This guy has significantly reduced the smoke and odor.
  Every one at home can feel the difference.

• Excellent for the kitchen
  This product is excellent in the kitchen. We cook a lot of indian food and this product is a 'match made in heaven' for this type of odor-intensive cooking. nowadays, we even fry fish and this takes care of all the odor. Havent had to replace filter until now. It would have been great if Hamilton bundled a free filter along with the machine....more info
• So So
  I bought one to counter the stench of the litter box used by 2 cats. The purifier was a miracle worker for the first week operating on "whisper mode", so I bought a second one for my office, since my dog comes to work every day and adds his smell to the place. After the first week, the one by the cat litter box stopped being effective. I opened it and it was pretty choked with dust, so i cleaned it out as best as I could and put it back. It doesn't seem to work like it did the first few days any more. I could try replacing the filter, but the cost would add up quick if I have to replace them once a week! Yikes! I'd have to say it worked so great to start with that I'll stick it out a while longer, but overall it hasn't lived up to its full billing. In terms of "whisper mode", the sound level of the fan is less than an window A/C, but more than a computer fan......more info
• This product works great
  ok - here goes.We moved apartments,and our new apt has one of those exhausts which are under a microwave mounted over the stove.
  So the odours when cooking on the front parts of the range enter the room!Yuck! (And this apt complex is a fancy one :( )
  Plus - we cook a lot of Indian ,Italian food,and bake stuff.
  So - its an odor fest - yuck!!I was not sure,reading some of these reviews,but I bought one ($20 - what did I have to lose)
  and I have a elec. socket right next to the cooking range.

  Wow! Odors clear up really well - the odors have been cut by 75% (and that's a lot when making sauces and curries)
  then,after cooking (we set it to quick clean during cooking),and clean up is done,we keep it all night / all day,on whisper clean ,and the next day-all odors gone!
  I loved it ,and bought 2 more for some more rooms of my apt
  I guess the trick is to keep it close to the source of odors
  it's compact,works wonderfully,and easy to clean/replace filters,and cheap!...more info

• Seems small, but it's really effective
  We have two. One of them runs in the bathroom all the time, and works well to eliminate the musty odor. The other is in the kitchen and while it's running all the time, it's a bit more negligable because there's a lot of air circulation. Best to keep it in a smaller area, or very close to the souce of the odor. I still find that an open bowl of arm & hammer works the best...go figure. But you should see the dust they collect...convinces me that they're doing something good. I recomend....more info
