Product Description

Neoair Enviro 68108 all-in-one air purifier delivers multiple functioning air cleaning technologies in one compact device. It combines proven technologies such as HEPA Filter, Carbon Filter and exclusive O.F.S. antibacterial technology. The benefits are obvious: It does a better job cleaning your air, costs less than several stand-alone devices, takes up less space, and uses less energy than separate units. Ozone Free Certification Applied Consumer Service independently tested the Neoair Enviro 68108 and found that it is ozone free. This test really sets Neoair apart from the competition because many air purifiers on the market produce ozone in one form or another. Ozone is an irritant to allergy sufferers and is a dangerous health hazard. The Neoair air purifier is absolutely safe to use for asthma and allergy sufferers, especially those who are sensitive to ozone. The Enviro 68108's advanced features can automatically detect and drastically reduce them, helping you and your family live more comfortably. The Neoair Enviro 68108 is not your common air purifier. Customer Reviews:
  • Unit just ok, Customer Service Not Great
I purchased this unit July 2007 and it worked great for a while. I really like the auto feature. About 6 months after using this every day I would notice a burning smell coming from the unit. I realized the fan was not turning. So I shut the unit off and turned it back on in an hour. It seemed as though the motor was burning up. This happened a few more times so I decided to contact NeoAir to get a replacement. In the owners manual it tells you exactly where to send it and to include money for shipping costs back to me. I had called the customer service number a couple of times to confirm the printed information and never was able to speak to anyone. So i left messages. I never heard back, so I figured I would take a chance and just send it in (the unit wasn't working correctly anyway). I received notification that it was received on 4/2/08 and had a copy of the signature. I waited 1 week and then called to follow up. Had to leave a message again. Called 2 more times and same problem, had to leave a message. Finally I sent an email through NeoAir's web site and did get a response apologizing for the poor customer service. I was told on 4/22/08 that I would get an update by the end of the day with the status. Since then (today is 5/9/08) I had sent 2 follow up emails and never heard back. So today I decided to try calling and I actually was able to speak to someone directly. Wow! He explained to me that they had moved and there had been some problems and I had an old address, and they had still not found my package. The good thing that has come out of all this, is that he said he will be sending me a new unit today. He did apologize and seemed genuine. As long as I get the new unit and I don't have the same problems with the fan motor, then I will be much happier with the product & company. Neoair Enviro 68108...more info
  • Works well for small room
I am giving this three stars because I thought that it was more powerful than it really is. If you have a small room then this is perfect. It is very quiet and works immediately. However, it doesn't filter the size of room that is advertised.

This product works well up to about 250sq feet. Then it is just not strong enough. That said, if you are looking for a purifier for a smaller room than this thing is perfect!...more info

  • Questionable
This Neoair product has ok spec's. It is only $200 for a purifier that only require annual filter replacement cost of ~$44 and power consumption of 40 Watts, not too noisy at 26 dB with a cleaning speed of 152 CFM. However, it is important to note that 152 CFM is not that powerful. Most purifiers on the market participate AHAM and certified to get a CADR (Clean Air Delivery Rating). CADR testing is a scientific test where AHAM fills up a closed room with different allergens, smoke, dust, pollen, and measures the volumne of clean air produced by a given air purifier. I must say Neoair is the ONLY company I know which does not get certified. Neoair decides for some reason to skip this important test by AHAM (Association of Home Appliance Manufactures). This alone is worrisome. CFM fan speed alone does not indictor the cleaning speed. It only states the volume of air passes the fan as a function of time. For example, a normal fan has a CFM value, but it has no CADR value as it does not clean air.

Another thing concerning to me is some of the marketing and customer services of this young company. This Neoair at best has a CADR of probably 130-140, estimates from its 152 CFM value (A CADR value can never exceed its fan speed CFM). It is rather important to know that when Neoair claims this unit can served a 450 square feet, the statement is completely overrated, or at the very least, it deviates from the standard definition. Using the common standard of a "5 air change per hour" recommended by AHAM, this Neoair should be used for a 210 sq ft floor space, not 450 sq ft. In addition, this company customer service is somewhat lacking. They do not seem to know their products well.

The most important aspect of an air purifier is its cleaning power. No question about it. As mentioned, Neoair purifier costs alot for a small cleaning power machine, and this makes a NeoAir purchase very difficult to justify. The Honeywell 50250 sells at a prize of ~$150, and has a significantly stronger CADR of 250, serving a much larger area of 374 sq ft (5 air change per hour). Honeywell unit also has a permanent HEPA filter which save alot of money, and it is highly rated by consumer reports and consumer search. Whirlpool AP450 is another great purifier. It is rated as number one by consumer reports. It costs a slightly more at $250, but it has a incredible 330 CADR. That is more than doubles this Neoair Enviro. AP450 is also one of the quieter purifiers and it is energy star rated (energy efficient). 3M Filtrete Ultra Air Cleaners are also better.

Neoair may have some redemption aspec, but it certainly has no major advantage compared to most purifiers on the market. Unless, someone can honestly tell me why anyone should buy a (1) not AHAM certified (2) more expensive (3) less powerful (4) less consumer support unit. ...more info
